Want Food Ideas

Its been years since Want Food Ideas evolved from a small catering business to regular cooking classes in my home. The prevalence of cooking on television has exposed us to a huge array of options and better knowledge of cuisines and ingredients. I say if it encourages more people to get into the kitchen, then fabulous. At the insistence of my loyal students and friends I’ve revived the Want Food Ideas brand to bring you my favourite recipes, tried and true – ready for easy entertaining.

About Me

Sue
I became passionate about food holidaying with my grandmother as a child. As a country woman she was always in the kitchen or in the garden picking her vegetables. She encouraged me with my cooking from a young age and her memory lives on in the hand written cookbook she left me when she passed away. Whilst at school I made terrines and pates for delis and later cakes for restaurants and began catering. After my children were born I sold Sundried tomatoes, relishes and curry pastes at the local markets. The catering became tough to juggle with a young family so Want Food Ideas was born. I employed my very able friend Vicki to assist me with the cooking classes and over the seven years we had a lot of fun and met lots of great people. We ran couples classes on Saturday nights, girls in the week and kids classes in the school holidays. After 17 years we moved house and the classes became impossible in the new kitchen so sprung the idea to revive the Want Food Ideas brand via a blog. I hope you find my recipes inspiring and effortless. Enjoy. Regards, Sue Want
